‘Twas the run up to Christmas and the Sun Peaks slopes were covered with glistening, white fluffy snow. Time to celebrate!

With its perfect Christmas card backdrop and quaint Tyrolean-themed village, Sun Peaks really knows how to celebrate the season in style. Holiday Kick-Off this weekend includes a full schedule of Christmassy activities.

Go shopping Saturday and Sunday at the Artisan Market at the Sun Peaks Centre, a one-stop-shop for sourcing home-grown gifts for family and friends. Take the kids for photos with Santa, arriving by horse drawn sleigh at the Sun Peaks Clock Tower Square from 1-4pm on Saturday.

Other festive fun this weekend includes the Harry Bear Scavenger Hunt around the village stroll, free hot chocolate, and live holiday-inspired music from the Lindsay May Trio at the Upper Village outdoor stage. Elevated Fishing Adventures has a ‘Fun Fishing Hut’ and Mountain Man Adventures is putting on a Dog Sledding Demo Booth. Free gingerbread cookies from Brynn's Bakery for those fast enough to catch ‘Gingy’. Don't miss EMBERS, Fire Dance Performance by Kinshira Entertainment at 5:30 on the lower slopes. Nightskiing, toboganning, skating, and horse-drawn sleigh rides complete the outdoor Christmassy vibe.

Lots more festive fun coming over the next few weeks. If you haven't booked your Christmas or New Year visit, check out availability. Many people have had to cancel due to road closures but if you're coming in via Kamloops Airport or driving over from the East, you'll find plenty of 'room at the inn'.
